Kyle pretty much sums up my opinion on this type of navigation.
Kefalonia
Last month I went to a Greek island called Kefalonia on holiday. I took lots of photos while I was there and I’ve turned some of my favorites into wallpapers.
→ Walking around Longshaw Estate
My friend Kyle has published his photos from the walk we went on a few weekends ago. He’s also explained how we used an iPhone App called PlaceTagger to geotag our photos and he’s gone into more detail about the EveryTrail App we used to map our route.
I especially love the photo of the fallen tree with the coins in and the photo straight after of the leafy floor.

Amazing yet simple idea for a photo blog.
The Best Beef Burger
I’m pretty sure I’ve found the best beef burger recipe this week, they’re easy to cook and they taste yummy!
The recipe is from Jamie’s Oliver’s iPhone App and it makes 4.
Ingredients
- 500g beef mince
- 1 red onion
- 1 medium egg, yoke only
- 50g breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 50g pecorino cheese, grated finally
- cheddar heese, preferably already sliced
- 2 large tomato
- 1 cucumber
- round lettuce
- 4 burger buns, sliced
- olive oil
- salt & pepper
The steps
Peel and halve the red onion, slice one half into rings then put the rest in a food processor and blitz until chopped. Add the egg yoke, chilli powder, cumin, oregano, breadcrumbs, mustard and grated pecorino then whiz until fine.
Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add the mince. Season well with salt and pepper then mix everything together. Divide the mixture into 4 balls then pat each into a burger shape.
Fry the burgers on a medium heat for 4 minutes then flip, add a slice of cheese on top then cook for a further 4 minutes or until cooked. Remove the burgers and place on a plate and cover with tinfoil, allow the burgers to rest for 5 minutes.
Add the burger buns inside face down and fry for a few minutes or until they’re nice and crispy.
Now its time to build the burger, you can add anything here but I like to build mine like this. Bugger bun at the bottom with some tomato ketchup on, now the burger, then a slice of tomato, cucumber and a few red onion rings, followed by some lettuce leaves, mayonnaise and then the top of the bugger bun, yum!

I like his work, especially the photo where he shows every foul from a football game.
Longshaw Estate
Last weekend me and @yourfriendkyle went for another walk into Derbyshire and this time, we decided to go into the Longshaw Estate. I’m glad we did because there were lots of variation in the terrain and lots of good photo opportunities. The walk went through fields full of sheep, followed a stream through some woods and went through some meadows. We used the Every Trail iPhone app to create a map of the walk that can be viewed here.
Daring Fireball the Tee
When John Gruber posted on his twitter account that he was taking Daring Fireball tee-shirt orders again, I decided to jump straight in and order one.
I love his website and love John’s writing style, if you haven’t heard of him before you should definitely check out his work!
